Introducing Module Resources

The Resources module is perfect for websites and users who want to share their work. You can offer both paid and free resources. Our module provides all the essential features for a resource-sharing website, including resource versions, categories, and more. Think of Resources as Store Products, but instead of executing commands, you provide users with files to download.

Can Users Add Their Own Resources?

Your website users can't create resources unless they are added as a team member on your website. If we receive enough requests to allow users to upload resources via the website, we might consider adding this feature.

Note

If you allow users to add paid resources, all the money will go to you.

How to Enable the Module

  1. Navigate to the GameCMS Dashboard.
  2. Go to Website Modules.
  3. Find the Resources Module on the main page and click Enable.
  4. Click the Settings button to edit the module's settings.
  5. Click the Categories button to manage the Resources categories.

What is a Resource?

A Resource is the main content file. Each Resource can have multiple versions, which are managed through Resource Releases.

What are Resource Categories?

Resource Categories are the sections where you create resources. You can have multiple categories for different types of resources. For example, you can have a category for plugins, another for themes, and so on.

How to Create a Resource

To create a Resource, please follow the steps from our documentation page Resources Categories.

How to Create a Resource Release

To create a Resource Release, go to the Resources List on our dashboard and find the resource you want to update. Click edit, scroll down to where the Resource versions are located, and click the button Add New Version. There you can enter the version label, select the file, and write a description.

To make a paid resource, you need to set up a payment method in the Store. Here are the links for setting up PayPal and Stripe:

Once you have set up a payment method, you can set a resource price when you edit the resource.
