Categories

Wiki categories are essential for organizing your articles. Here's how to create and manage them:

How to Create a New Category​

  1. Navigate to the GameCMS Dashboard.
  2. Go to Website Modules.
  3. Select Wiki from the menu.
  4. Select Categories from the menu.
  5. Click the New Category button.

Options​

Overview​

When creating a new category, you'll have the following options:

  • Name: The name of the category.
  • Slug: The URL-friendly version of the category name.
  • Description: A brief description of the category.
  • Should this item be shown to users?: Toggle to show or hide the category from users.
  • Show category description: Toggle to display the category description on the category page.
  • Show random article: Show a random article when no article is selected.
  • Show default article: Show a default article when no article is selected.

Articles Tab​

The Articles tab contains all articles for the category. It's recommended to manage your articles by category.

Default Article

You can set a default article by clicking on the star button.

Tips for Organizing Categories​

You can drag and drop categories from the categories list. You can drop categories into different categories to create subcategories. Subcategories help organize your articles, especially if they are complex.

Ensure you press the Save Order button once you are done.

Tips for Organizing Articles​

If you want to move the article positions, go to the category where the articles belong and click the Articles tab. An easy way to do this is to edit the article from the global list Articles and click Back to category.
